The project consists of making a decision on the permit renewal for continued hazardous and explosives waste management operations at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) - Site 300. LLNL - Site 300 is an existing experimental test facility located on the eastern Altamont Hills. DTSC issued permits to LLNL - Site 300 to operate 3 hazardous waste storage and treatment facilities. The permits expired in 2006 and 2007 but LLNL is allowed to continue operating under the expired permits until a final decision is made on their renewal application.
