Document Description
The Sierra Nevada Conservancy (SNC) would provide funding to the Placer County Division of Parks, Trails, and Open Space for the Hidden Falls Regional Park Trails Expansion Project – Phase Two – Connectivity Trail (project). Placer County proposes to enhance public access to the outdoors through construction of a new connectivity trail that will provide the crucial link between the existing 1,200-acre, county-owned Hidden Falls Regional Park (HFRP) in Auburn and the new HFRP trails expansion area, which includes properties owned by Placer County Land Trust. Grant funding would be used to construct approximately 3 miles of natural surface, multi-use trails; three, 21 – 26-foot bridges; and trail amenities including interpretative panels, benches, picnic tables, and a gate. Placer County evaluated the project in an Environmental Impact Report (EIR) (certified on January 28, 2010), Subsequent EIR (certified on March 8, 2021), and Addendum (approved on October 31, 2023). The SNC has reviewed the EIR, Subsequent EIR, and Addendum, and has independently determined that the project would result in significant adverse environmental impacts. All work will be performed in compliance with Placer County’s EIR, Subsequent EIR, and Addendum
