Document Description
The proposed project would entail the issuance of a water right permit for diversion of up to 1,320 acre-feet (AF) per year from the Big Sur River via two existing wells. Per a draft settlement agreement with the California Department of Fish and Wildlife, the project would also include a new 404-AF off-stream reservoir, development of a replacement pasture area (to offset the lost acreage to the reservoir), bypass flow requirements, and implementation of best management practices for ranching and land maintenance.
