Full Title: Sacramento Republic FC Stadium - Optional Expansion (Z25-095) within the Railyards - Prior Project Railyards Specific Plan Update Project (PlS040) and Sacramento Republic FC Stadium (Z25-042)
On September 8, 2025, the Sacramento Republic FC Stadium - Z25-042 project (Stadium Project) was approved. The entitlements include: 1) Approval of an Addendum to the Certified SEIR; 2) Minor Modification to the terms and conditions of a Conditional Use Permit for a previously approved sports complex; and 3) Site Plan and Design Review for the development of a 12,000-seat stadium with a main VIP building, grandstands, ancillary support buildings, associated plaza areas, lighting, and offsite transportation and utility infrastructure improvements as an initial phase. The Sacramento Republic FC Stadium Project could be expanded to approximately 20,000 or more seats, up to a maximum of 25,000 seats. The NOD for the Stadium Project was filed on September 8, 2025, and the statute of limitations to challenge the project approval expired on October 8, 2025. The current action includes approval of a modification to the terms and conditions of the Conditional Use Permit for the optional expansion of the sports complex previously evaluated in the certified SEIR and addendum which documented that the modification of the CUP does require further environmental review pursuant to CEQA guidelines section 15162. The current action constitutes a minor modification of the Stadium Project and does not constitute
a re-approval of the Stadium Project.
