Document Description
This proposed project involves extraction, processing, separation, stockpiling and selling of sand, gravel, rocks, and other construction aggregate materials in a new 51.8-acre footprint as well as an existing 121-acre mining area. The Project will result in impacts to 51.8 acres of San Bernardino kangaroo rat (Dipodomys merriami parvus), Slender-horned spineflower (Dodecahema leptoceras), and Santa Ana River woollystar (Eriastrum densifolium ssp. sanctorum) habitat with no temporary impacts; the Project will permanently remove 51.8 acres of San Bernardino kangaroo rat, Slender-horned spineflower, and Santa Ana River woollystar habitat. The project is expected to result in incidental take of San Bernardino kangaroo rat, Slenderhorned spineflower, and Santa Ana River woollystar, which are designated as an endangered species under the California Endangered Species Act. The ITP referenced above as issued by CDFW authorizes incidental take of species listed under CESA that may occur as a result of Project implementation.
