Document Description
The Lower Busch Tank Improvement Project (Project) will replace the current 300,000- gallon-concrete tank with a 385,000-gallon-steel tank. In addition to replacing the tank, a tank mounted blower will be installed, three dead or dying tamarisk trees will be removed and the existing chain link fencing will be replaced with a new 6-foot chain link fencing with two new double-swing chain link gates. Los Angeles County Department of Public Works — Waterworks Division District No. 29 (Lead Agency) completed the Lower Busch Tank Improvement Negative Declaration (ND) that included an analysis of the project in 2003. Public Works adopted the Project in 2005 (SCH Filing No. 2003081124). Public Works has updated the scope of work and prepared an analysis that has determined that the changes will not result in any new significant or unavoidable impacts not listed in the 2005 ND. This analysis is outlined in the 2024 Lower Busch Tank Improvement Project Addendum
This Notice of Determination is to advise that on May 6, 2025 the Los Angeles County Department of Public Works, as the lead agency for the Project, has made the following determinations regarding the project:
1. The project will not result in significant and unavoidable impacts.
2. A negative declaration was approved for this Project in 2005 pursuant to the
provisions of CEQA.
3. An addendum to the 2005 negative declaration was prepared for this Project
pursuant to the provisions of CEQA.
4. No mitigation measures were made a condition of the approval of the Project.
5. Findings were made pursuant to the provisions of CEQA.
6. The Project will not create any new significant impacts not analyzed in the
previously certified Negative Declaration.
