Reasons for Exemption
Project was approved and found to be exempt on December 4th, 2001. The project is an emergency pursuant to Section 15269 (b) and categorically except pursuant to Section 15301 (Existing Facilities). We are repairing and replacing the current outdated analog microwave system that was damaged during an electrical storm last October. Failure of what is left of this system will result in loss of Police/Public Safety Radio Communications. These repairs are at existing facilities and will serve essentially the same purpose with little or no expansion.
