The area has been in active cultivation for a number of years, there are no trees on the sites to be acquired, and no cultural, historical or scenic features are known to exist. The site is zoned R-1 residential and is designated medium density residential by the general plan, and it is near two sites identified for acquisition by the master plan for water facilities.
Document Description
A proposal by the City of Madera to construt a community water well. The parcel is located between two sites indicated on the water system master plan as potential locations of new community wells. These locations are presented for master planning purposes only. With final locations to be determined during final design stages for each project. This projet involves installation of community water well to serve an area designated by the general plan for residential development. It will also connect to a looped water system which serves the county government complex, and provide improved water pressure and fire flows for those facilities. A conformity finding with the general plan was made by the city planning commission for acquisition of this site on March 13, 2001. And this environmental review is being re-circulated through the State Clearinghouse based on requirements by the State Department of Health Services.
