The project site is an existing City park which contains a landmark building and an existing "reconstituted" creek. The Project is an update to the master plan for the park. The existing uses/facilities within the park include: the Peralta Hacienda which is a designated local and State landmark and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places; a community building; lawn areas; a barro pit containing artifacts from the original hacienda; a "reconstituted" portion of Peralta Creek which contains both an at-grade water channel that appears like a natural creek and an underground culvert (12-15 feet below grade.) The at-grade creek is fed by water pumped from the underground culvert into the creek to create a managed flow in the at-grade creek; a wooden hillside; restroom building; picnic tables and parking for about 10 cars.
