                Document Description

The City of Roseville proposes to construct a retention basin to help reduce potential downstream flooding that could be caused by the entitled projects and future projects within the City and in certain portions of south Placer County. The development of a retention basin will help reduce the risk of flood hazards to downstream communities. The project area is located in southwestern Placer County approximately 2.4 miles west of the city limits of Roseville. The project area is an irregularly shaped, approximately 1,500 acre site used primarily for rice farming. The northernmost portion of the project area abuts Sunset Boulevard West, and the southernmost boundary of the project area lies along Philip Road. Brewer Road and Fiddyment Road are the closest regularly-used public roads to the western and eastern boundries of the project area.
