                Document Description

The project consists of demolition of all onsite uses, development of an 18,055 square foot Multi-purpose Building, widening of the entrance driveway to South Peck Avenue, development of additional surface parking east and west of the Multi-purpose Building, re-design of the existing surface parking, placing of all utilities underground, potential abandonment or capping of existing utilities, increasing the capacity of the detention basin and development of an emergency-access driveway to South Rowell Avenue. Construction is anticipated to be completed in August 2003. The project site (325 South Peck Avenue) currently has facilities used by the District's South Bay Adult School, Manhattan Beach Family Center and Manhattan Child Development Center (i.e. adult education and day care) programs. The existing seven portable buildings onsite were installed in 1965-66. The project site is designated as Public Facilities in the General Plan of the City of Manhattan Beach and the zoning designation is Public Facilities.
