Replace the chemical toilet at the Independence Trailhead in South Yuba River State Park with a new vault toilet and the pit toilet (located one mile southwest of the trailhead at the end of flume 28) with a prefabricated composting toilet. New facilities will provide improved visitor services, protect public health, and simplify facility maintenance.
