Document Description
The City of Riverside Park and Recreation Department proposes to remove existing play ground equipment and install new equipment of comparable size and design approximately 200 feet north of its present location. The intent of the replacement is to bring the park facility into compliance with Title 24 of the State Building Code. Current play equipment and play ground layout does not provide adequate access.

Reasons for Exemption
The proposed project involves the removal and replacement of existing play equipment with play equipment of comparable size, design and function. No expansion of the overall park or the play ground area is proposed and the proposed play equipment will not facilitate an increase in overall site capacity. The replacement is required to bring the play facilities up to the current standard of access required in Title 24 of the State Building Code. Modification of the existing equipment to bring it into compliance is not practical. The play ground area is turfed with non-native vegetation and is not environmentally sensitive.
