Document Description
The project consists of redesigning the San Marlo Esplanade just west of the Lighthouse to allow tour buses to drive northward between Rockaway Beach Avenue, the public parking area, and finally onto San Marlo Way. The length of the proposed bus route is approximately 180 feet. A multi-purpose trail for walkers and bikers is also proposed that will replace the existing pedestrian path. A buffer zone of 5 feet is included in the project between the multi-purpose trail and the bus route. In addition, the public parking lot pavement will be restriped to allow the tour buses room to turn and to provide a bike path around the perimeter of the parking lot that connects to an existing path to the north of the parking area.
