Document Description
The proposed project would consist of upgrading the existing Department of Motor Vehicles field office to comply with ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) requirements. This facility is a one-story structure originally constructed in 1964. Site work will include installation of new ADA directional signs at parking entrances; install new concrete walk from public sidewalk; install two new sidewalk ramps with curbs and steel handrail; remove/modify two existing planters to provide accessible path of travel; and re-strip portions of the existing parking lot to provide accessible parking stalls and path of travel. Exterior building work will include removal and replacement of thresholds at five exterior doors. Interior building work will include demolish, reconfigure, and rebuild four restrooms; remove existing drinking fountain and replace with new hi-lo drinking fountain and guard rails; replace existing door hardware at various locations; and add signage at various locations.
