The proposed project site is located on gently sloping, relatively flat property, approximately 1,400 feet south of the Scott River. Vegetation at the project site consists mainly of native grasses. Deer, rodents and song birds are common in the area. The parcel is shown as being within the Scott Valley Deer Winter Range and as an area containing Prime Agriculural Soils, according the Siskiyou County General Plan and the Scott Valley Area Plan.
