Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) has executed and issued Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement (EPIMS-RIV-61424-R6), pursuant to Fish and Game Code section 1602, to the Project Applicant, Jerry Aguirre (Riverside County Flood Control and Water Conservation District). The Project is limited to the routine maintenance of Murrieta Creek. The notification only covers the maintenance of the Phase 2A Project. Maintenance Description: Channel operation and maintenance will consist of inspections, maintenance, and repairs to channel side slopes (Soil Cement Slopes and Vegetated Slopes), Side Drains and Side Drain Access areas, Grade Control Structures, and Maintenance Roads. Maintenance will also include vegetation management and sediment removal within the Regularly Maintained Area along the channel bottom. Equipment needed for maintenance of the creek channel may include, but is not limited to, the following equipment types: dozers, scrapers, graders, loaders, pickup trucks, water trucks, flatbed trucks, excavators, dump trucks, rubber-tracked mowers, bobcats, agricultural tractors, and skid steer loaders.

Located within the approximately 4,300-foot-long existing Murrieta Creek Phase 2A flood control channel located upstream of the existing Phase 1 channel. The Phase 2A channel begins approximately 980 linear feet downstream of the 1st Street bridge and extends upstream to approximately 500 feet downstream of Rancho California Road. Murrieta Creek is a tributary to Santa Margarita River; U.S. Geological Survey, 7.5' Temecula and Murrieta Quadrangle in extrapolated Sections 2, 11 and 12, Township 8 South, Range 3 West, Sections 34 and 35, Township 7 South, Range 3 West, San Bernardino Base and Meridian.
