Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement (EPIMS-TEH-68790-R1), pursuant to Fish and Game Code section 1602, the project Applicant, Tehama County.
The project is limited to approximately 20,000 cubic yards of annual sand and gravel extraction from Thomes Creek. Aggregate is to be removed from the gravel bars adjacent to the low-flow channel with bar skimming methods. Limited native vegetation may be removed during gravel extraction. Non-native, invasive vegetation will be removed during project-related activities. Aggregate will be removed with scrapers and stockpiled in upland areas. The operation will re-establish a single low-flow channel through the site, and adjacent skimmed gravel bar surfaces will be graded to slope toward this channel. Any loose debris that has accumulated on the abutments of the bridge for Simpson Road will be removed during extraction-related activities. At the end of annual operations where extraction activities have disturbed the streambed, all depressions in the bars will be filled in and any mounds will be graded flat.
