Document Description
The Modesto Irrigation District (MID) is authorized by the California Water Code and other relevant law to provide electrical service to an area of approximately 568 square miles in portions of San Joaquin, Stanislaus, and Tuolumne counties. MID is required to provide electrical service within its “traditional service area” of approximately 160 square miles, all within Stanislaus County, and within the City of Mountain House, approximately eight square miles, within San Joaquin County. It may also provide service to customers in a 400-square mile “joint electric distribution service area” in San Joaquin and Stanislaus counties, where MID may compete with other utilities. This Updated PEIR is intended to provide CEQA environmental review for ESI Program activities during the 2026– 2033 planning period.
