Document Description
The project proposes reinitiating commercial aggregate extraction from the channel of the Eel River near the Palmer Mine (Mine I.D. Number 91-12-0063). The gravel extraction volume approved under a Vested Rights Determination by the County of Humboldt is 250,000 cubic yards of gravel annually from the “Drake Bar,” though the project stipulates that actual quantities will be determined through flow-based analyses of annual replenishment, and subject to the approval of the gravel-review agencies (i.e. County of Humboldt Extraction Review Team; National Marine Fisheries Service; U.S. Army Corps of Engineers; CDFW; North Coast Regional Water Quality Control Board).
