Document Description
CDCR Division of Adult Paroles, will lease approximately 20,919 square foot office located in Lancaster, CA. The project will involve interior renovations and build out of an existing office including replacing ceiling tiles, electrical fixtures, paint, carpeting, flooring, and roll up shades. The project also includes a 50% reduction to the current existing space. It entails installing a security system security, including exterior cameras, alarm keypads, and key card readers, and implementing all new safety requirements to include installing a secure vestibule. This project is needed as the current square footage is too big for the current population and Lancaster still requires a Parole Office.

The project is categorically exempt from CEQA under the “Class 1” (14 CCR §15301) exemption per the CEQA Guidelines because the project involves negligible to no expansion of use. The project site is not in an environmentally sensitive area and none of the exceptions to this exemption are applicable. This is one of a class of projects that the Secretary for Resources has found do not have a significant effect on the environment and therefore is declared to be categorically exempt from the requirement for preparing an environmental document.
